CLEARING THE WAY FOR A NEW BEGINNING ...

Updated: Feb 3

October 2023 was filled with many exciting events and steps forward for our community. With Hinton's 150th anniversary celebration, a successful Railroad Days Festival, progress to the development of Hinton Landing, and continued removal of dilapidated structures the month was filled with many accomplishments. The purchase and demolition of the dilapidated structures on Park Avenue at Hinton Area Elementary has paved the way for the building of new housing on that property. In addition, the city completed site prep for a new parking lot for staff at HAE on the previous site of a dilapidated structure. The city also removed structures declared unsafe and abandoned at 916 Temple Street, 123 Herman Street, and 1108 Terrace Street. As Hinton continues to grow and flourish, it is our hope that the clean-up of these unsightly structures and the continued development of future projects will enhance our efforts to make Hinton the town to "live, work, play"!
