During the coming 4-6 weeks, the City of Hinton, thanks to a $170,500. grant from the
WV Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), will be demolishing twenty (20)
dilapidated properties throughout the city. 1215 Temple Street in the West End is the
first demolition to start the process. Mayor Scott commented, “This is a lengthy process
and takes a lot of legal work, but so well worth it for our community. It is a necessary step
for our efforts to rebuild our housing sector.”
