'Hinton Help for Homes' completes a new project!

Property owner Virginia Cales of 1492 Summers Street in the City, is the latest recipient of year 2 of the 'Hinton Help for Homes' project, an initiative for enhancing homes for qualifying Hinton residents. The initiative kicked off in 2024 and made a significant impact with nine (9) property owners benefiting from the program. As Phase 2 commences, the collaboration with The Center for Rural Health Development promises even greater support and resources for eligible homeowners.  

The initiative provides upgrades to enhance the living conditions of qualifying Hinton’s residents by providing necessary renovations and repairs that ensure the health and safety of their homes. The first phase saw a significant impact, with nine (9) property owners benefiting from the program. As Phase 2 commences, the collaboration with The Center for Rural Health Development promises even greater support and resources for eligible homeowners.  

Hinton Mayor Jack Scott commented, “Our funding assistance has provided wonderful

Improvements for our property owners and our community. I encourage eligible property owners to apply for funding assistance as we continue this successful project.” 

Ms. Cales stated, “Thank you for this much-needed improvement to my home.

Mr. Willey and his craftsmen did an excellent job.” 

Eligible property owners in the City of Hinton may receive up to $5,000. in funding assistance for health and safety improvements/renovations/repairs. No matching funds

are required from the eligible property owner. Applications are available at City Hall (466-3255) during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 am - 4 pm.
